I came across a webpage about dental care and there was one article that went into detail about how you can cut down on the rists of gum disease. They say that as much as 80% of people suffer from gum disease. You know something? It was like all this dental info was based on the number of patients who came to my office.

Here is a picture of the lovely Jennifer Love Hewitt. Her entertainment career was launched by settling in Los Angeles where she wanted to follow a career in music. She never did make it as a singer. But as an actress, she has thrived. My feeling is that she is much more suited to acting than singing. However, she can still sing and has released a few albums.

In a recent interview she confessed she never learned to ride a bike. That is incredible! I don't know Jennifer Love Hewitt personally, and I have never given her dental care either, but I regard her as a good-looking lady and has a great smile.

There could be a chance that even she has suffered from gum disease, though the public would probably never know. Not that we need to know.

It is well known that healthy gums generally do not bleed whenever you brush your teeth. If your gums are in good condition, they would be a healthy pink color but not inflamed. Ideally, you should have firm gums. I always try to keep an eye on the depth of a patient's gum pockets. This gives us a good indication of gum disease. By checking on the depth, we can estimate how bad is the gum disease and what should be done in the future. The thing about pockets is, once they form, they stay however, you can prevent them from depressing any further. Bone loss from the jaw will cause gum pockets and eventually you find that your teeth don't have a lot of bone to anchor the roots and that, you find, has been why many folks start to see their teeth fall off the older they get.

I truly love to see you have strong teeth. So, I believe in natural remedies that safeguard you from having to make a trip to the dentist.

Proper oral hygiene at home can help a lot. And there are occasions when patients would make an appointment with me and undergo additional procedures to clean their teeth that further protects them from having problems with their gums and teeth.

Remember Jennifer Love Hewitt? The actress with the nice teeth? Well you don't have to be her to make the most of my treatment for Fairfax County gum disease.
