Having Discomfort After Fairfax City Dental Crown Placement
If, after a dental crown placement, you still feel a tinge of pain, it is a natural side-effect. Your tooth is probably not yet over the loss of its enamel.
While performing the dental crown placement procedure, I am forced to get rid of a lot of enamel. In fact, it may feel as if none of the enamel is left. Your tooth nerves will feel the pinch and will react to friction, pressure and temperature changes. This is the reason you feel that sharp tingling feeling after the new dental crown is installed. However, this should be gone after two days.
It is also possible that we put too much height on the crown. The technician assigned to the task would have gone wrong in creating the crown to my exact requirements. It is easy to fix, though. You can ask me to simply file down the crown until we attain the correct level, or start again and create a whole new crown.
The uneasy feeling may also be because of a crown that simply doesn't fit. The crown's hollow core could be slightly below or above our specifications. In addition, the circumference and width may not be right for the tooth root.
To amend this problem, gold is the key. If you have a gold dental crown or a gold plus porcelain dental crown, we can do a fast fix-it job. Gold is a soft metal and we can easily knock it into different shapes. Hence, there is little problem. Pure porcelain crowns, though, won't be that easy. When using these, then it may be another situation for the dental technician when it comes to making the alterations.
Regardless, the key aspect of all of this is that we give you the best service possible and you have no regrets. We'd do everything we can so that you don't go away without feeling absolutely content with your teeth, so that you feel fine and look fine. It is your procedure and you are the one making the big calls. And we are supplying the expertise, techniques and tools to fulfill your end goal.
